Fishing trip on 16th May 2008. We had a very good night fishing, including a big tangle in the long lines because of the large kahawai. The sea was very calm which made things a lot easier for Mark who has the job of paddling the kayak. We use bonito bait on the long lines and pilchers or bonito on the surfcasters. I have also been experimenting with softbaits and fly lures and have been snapped off twice with big fish. I might get lucky one day and land the 'big one'. This is a nice shot of the sunset. You can se the small kayak that we use to take out the long lines.
Myself at the back of the truck rigging one of my rods. I wear waders to help stay dry and warm. I don't wade out far in the sea to cast in my line.
Some nice fish, including gurnard, mackerel, mullet and kahawai.
And a few nice snapper to finish off with.

Fishing Trip on Dec 2nd 2007. Mark and I headed off to our last trip for 2007 over to our spot on the coast. It did not turn out to be a great nights fishing but we did manage to bring home a feed.
